What is wrong with me??

UGH!  I feel like crap.  I can't believe I have gained 30 lbs in 10 months!  I never thought I would be here again!  Does it make me do things differently?? NO!  I only want crap and I don't want to exercise.  This time last year, I was already planning my teaching style for the WW meetings I would surely one day be hosting. Does it ever end?  Do you ever just "get it" and not feel like this anymore??

  1. You know me and you probably already know I have a lot of say about this subject. First, WW is the best way I've ever lost weight and I have used almost every method ~~ WW is the best (70 lbs. in 18 mo). The MINUTE I left WW, I started gaining it back, plus some. That all or nothing mentality does not work for losing weight.

Secondly, but most importantly, we all have our crosses to bear. I am not condoning obesity, but I am saying God made us, He knew where we would struggle and He allows these struggles. So, we can rejoice that there is purpose in the pain. Glory!

Some of us have to work harder than others to maintain a healthy weight. Obviously I have not been in the mood to work on it for five years, but that does not mean I won't find that mood again. Until then, I continue to try to walk in the joy God has given me, I try to be grateful for all the blessings and gifts He has bestowed on me, as I ask God to continue to be patient with me. And He is.

Ashley, you're one of the neatest people I know. God's love and grace shine through you girl! Don't lose sight of all the plans He has for you, the goodness He has put in your life and the path He has laid out for you and D to follow. Never measure your worth by your waistline (or anything else human). God delights in you! You are the apple of His eye!

  4. Ashley, I met my husband at my smallest 150 ( Im 5'8 and was abt a size 9, and look at those pictures now and think I looked great). Almost 10 years and 2 babies later I found myself at 248! I was in DENIAL about my weight. I would see pictures and think, WHO IS THAT?! ITS NOT ME! I dont look THAT fat irl...well I did. I decided that I was going to loose and break the cycle with myself(all the women in my family have had gastric bypass). So I went to one of those Medical Weight loss places and they have tought me how EVERYONE should eat. Ive lost almost 30lbs in three months and am waiting on my new elliptical to arrive. Its a low sodium, low sugar diet, high in protein, fresh or frozen veggies and fruit, and NO diet pills like Dr.Vitkins. Its like WW, but a little more supervised. I go weigh twice a week and I drink 3 of their protein shakes a day, which are DELICIOUS, and I drink a ton of water, about 80 oz/day. Im never hungry and sometimes can't eat all the food Im supposed to. You basically eat 3 oz lean protein/1 starch/1 fruit in the morning. 5oz protein/1 veggie/1 fruit at lunch. Then 6 oz protein/2 veggie/1 starch at dinner, and in between those meals you drink your smoothies. It works on the premis that your blood sugar and metabolism are regulated...and I have never felt better in my life.

Keep your momentum, it will never be easy , but it is manageable, and if you have a cheat, make sure to stick to your guns the rest of the day. If you have a craving you cant resist, take ONE bite and then get rid of the rest. Keep sugar free candy with you and eat a piece if you have a craving, but remember that the cravings will get better as time goes one. If you can go set a new habit for 21 days in a row, its easier to keep;)

    HTH! GOOD LUCK!
